5 Action Packed Activities To Try in Shanghai




An all girls' trip to Shanghai can be a great chance to try new activities with your best friends. Shanghai has a lot of unique things to offer, and depending on how much action you are looking for, you can really challenge yourself. Here are a few things you can try out in Shanghai on your girls' trip


1) Parkour – This is a great way to get in a workout while taking in the amazing sights of Shanghai. Parkour is basically a type of gymnastics that also involves leaping, jumping and hanging from Shanghai sights. If this is all new to you, check out the Shanghai Parkour Center. They offer free lessons from locals. This is a great way to try out some amazing new tricks, get to know some locals, and see the sights.


2) China Outside Adventure – This is an English-speaking group that specializes in offering adventure tours of Shanghai for tourists. Rent a bike through them and follow a knowledgeable guide to some of the off the beaten track spots. This is a great way to spend an afternoon or an entire day if you are more active.


3) Jan Jiang Action Park – This is a really huge amusement park that will give you breathtaking views of Shanghai and give you a run for your money if you enjoy roller coasters. The giant, inverted boomerang is thrilling and frightening. Don't bother getting here early, the rides don't start until the crowds start to arrive at around 10.


4) Kiteboarding – Kite boarding in Shanghai is very popular and there are plenty of spots that will teach you the basics for very little money. You want to choose a day when the weather is warm and there is a light breeze. You can take lessons at Golden Beach, there is a kitesurfing club that is run by both foreigners and Chinese. Spend a morning learning how to kitesurf and then spend the rest of the afternoon hanging out by the water and practicing.


5) Dragon Adventures – This group organizes some amazing outings into the wilderness just outside of Shanghai. If you have an extra two days to spare, check out their Baiji Mountain adventure. You may spend a few hours on a bus, but then you can take in some amazing wilderness. Go kayaking, rafting, hiking and swimming while enjoying breathtaking views. The trips run regularly, so just make sure to book your spots ahead of time.
